Version 2.24.0 is released!

We develop and improve crowd:it continuously. And now, a new version is released with great new features.

In addition to various bug fixes, there are also a few great new features that we would like to introduce to you.

Automatic wayfinding on multiple floors

Agents now independently find a suitable floor connector if their next destination is on a different floor. To do this, they select the closest object among all stairs, escalators, elevators, and portals that leads to the destination floor. Previously, it was necessary to manually place all floor connectors on the agent's path.
So with this innovation, many scenarios are now modeled in no time! Create an escape with just a few clicks, where the agents independently choose the locally shortest way out. Even complex scenarios with many floors are now much easier to model.
Of course, you retain full control over the simulation: If you wish, you can still include floor connectors in the path to fine-tune the agent behavior to your individual use case. In addition, you can group floor connectors into sets and subpaths.

Rotate geometry

Since the last release (version 2.23.0), you can edit the geometry of simulation objects directly in crowd:it. This alternative workflow is more lightweight than working separately with a CAD program and allows quick, minor adjustments. We are continuously improving and extending this feature.
This time we have worked on allowing elements of geometry to be rotated in crowd:it. Switch to the "Edit" tool with the toolbar and use the new curved arrows to rotate.
We will continue to work on such improvements. If you have any requests or feedback, feel free to contact us directly.

Easily edit geometry with tools from the toolbar (Version 2.23.0)

In the last release we introduced the toolbar, through which various functions are now available directly in crowd:it.

You can now draw new simulation objects, edit and move existing simulation objects, and remove unwanted simulation objects directly in crowd:it.

We have made the following tools available for you:

  • With the standard tool, you select simulation objects as before to assign them a type, such as source or target.
  • With the "Edit" tool, you select a simulation object to move individual points or the entire object.
  • Use the "Draw" tool to create a new simulation object. To streamline the workflow of drawing the geometry and assigning an object type, we have added a separate tool for each object type so that you can create sources, targets, and more with just a few clicks.
  • In addition, you will also find tools in the toolbar to create evaluation objects that were previously only accessible via the "Analyze" menu
  • If your simulation already contains results, the tool for marking the agents can also be found in the toolbar.
