We create safe and livable places

…by planning with insight. To do this, we support you in your projects with our deep expertise around the dynamics of crowds. We understand your questions and offer you individual, pragmatic solutions.

For this, we use our crowd simulation software crowd:it, the digital prototyping tool for construction, fire safety and events.

Who are we?

accu:rate is a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich and is based on the research work of Dr. Angelika Kneidl.

In 2009 Dr. Kneidl started her PhD on microscopic agent-based simulations. At this time the accident of the Loveparade 2010 in Duisburg happened, in which 21 people died and 650 were injured. This tragedy led to years of court proceedings. One thing is clear: better preparation could have prevented the accident.

For this reason, Dr. Kneidl decided, to carry the topic from research into practice and to found accu:rate

What do we do?

We simulate the flows of pedestrians with our software crowd:it. In this way, we help our customers visualize and solve the challenges of managing the dynamics of crowds.

Our simulations act as a digital prototyping tool that can be used to model and test processes and concepts of all kinds. Especially when it comes to managing different user groups in a building, the interactions can be quickly visualized and optimized.

To achieve this, we rely on the most advanced model for the simulation of people flows - the Optimal Steps Model. To ensure that our software remains the most advanced on the market, we continuously develop it and research the latest trends, such as BIM or the incorporation of real data within our research projects.

Within research projects and in dialog with other institutions such as universities and our partners, we always remain innovative and agile. We research new technologies and solution approaches, which we integrate into our software and our way of working. This also includes actively helping to shape the state of the art. We are involved in committee work for RiMEA e.V., the vfdb or the vfsg. We also contribute our expertise to current standardization: in the DIN 18009-2 evacuation simulation as well as in the update of the workplace guideline ASR A2.3, in which we prepared an expert opinion on escape routes in workplaces on behalf of the BAuA.

With crowd simulation, we bring the future into the present - realistically and at the cutting edge of science. For more safety and comfort in construction and urban planning, event and traffic management, and evacuations

How do we work?

Farsighted.

accu:rate as a company stands for planning with foresight. We would like to discover new ways together with you and always work sustainably and solution-oriented.
Partnership-based.

We want to work with you to make the world a little safer. That's why we rely on honest, partnership-based cooperation at eye level.

Enthusiastic.

We are passionate about our work, always full of drive and strive for outstanding quality. We do not see problems, but challenges that we want to solve! Your need is our drive.

Who do we work with?

We offer a high level of planning and cost certainty at low cost.

Our expertise has already convinced many well-known clients:

  • DB Netz AG in the planning of new railroad stations;
  • the Munich Airport with an informative evacuation simulation;
  • the Cannstatt Folk Festival, where we worked with organizers and the police to improve escape routes,
  • or Neuschwanstein Castle, which was once designed as a retreat for King Ludwig II and is now one of the most popular tourist attractions; here we were able to optimize the escape route concept together with all those involved.
