To strengthen our team in Munich, we are currently looking for a:
Software Developer –
with scientific depth, team spirit, and a user-centric approach

Do you want to do more than just write code and want to make a real difference?
Do you believe that academic research and practical software development aren't mutually exclusive, but rather go hand in hand?
Are you interested in taking on responsibility, helping to shape a product and mentoring younger team members along the way?
Then you've come to the right place.
Who we are
accu:rate is a Munich-based company specializing in simulation-based analyses of human movement. With our software, crowd:it, we make the dynamics of crowd flow visible to enhance safety at large-scale events, improve efficiency in buildings, and optimize evacuation planning.
Your role with us
We are looking for an experienced developer to join us in taking crowd:it to the next level.
This means you’ll work closely with our clients and our project team, understand their needs, and develop features that deliver real value to them. You’ll contribute your ideas, question requirements, and find solutions that are technically sound and user-friendly. Here’s what you can expect from us:
- The further development and design of crowd:it, our in-house simulation software
- A small, interdisciplinary team with a flat hierarchy and a strong openness to new ideas
- A meaningful role that contributes to society
- A combination of software development, modeling, and the application of genuine scientific methods
- Flexible hours and hybrid work but with a genuine team spirit in Munich
- Taking responsibility, contributing ideas, and providing guidance: We’re looking for someone who is also interested in mentoring and leading a team
What we expect from you
- Several years of experience in software development, ideally with Java
- Interest in scientific research and simulation-related topics
- Enjoyment of taking on responsibility both technically and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, initiative, and an eye for the big picture
- Plus points: Experience with simulation models, agent-based systems, UI/UX, or product development
What we offer you
- Creative freedom: We want to hear your ideas — they're always welcome
- Flexibility: Work in our Munich office or in a hybrid setup — whichever works best for you
- Professional and personal growth, with opportunities to take on real responsibility
- Practical Software: For Real-World Problems, Backed by Scientific Research
