2.17.0 is released!

We develop and improve crowd:it continuously. And now, a new version is released with great new features.

Improved avoidance when exiting elevators

When exiting elevators, agents waiting on the approached floor first keep their distance from the elevator to make room for those exiting before entering themselves. Agents already in the elevator also back away a few steps to the wall of the elevator. However, especially when the elevator was particularly busy, blockages could repeatedly occur here, where the agents could not get past each other and the simulation stalled.
With the new update, the people in the elevator now also get off if the situation requires it. There, they wait until their fellow passengers have left the elevator and then get back in to go to their actual destination floor.

Create meeting zones

Waiting zones can now also be created as meeting zones. For this purpose, "Fixed" must be set as the waiting behavior and the "Meeting zone" option must be checked. Now the agents wait until the set capacity is reached and then leave the waiting zone at the same time. In this way, for example, situations can be modeled in which people are waiting for a guided tour in a museum or at a tourist attraction: the participants arrive one by one and then leave together.
Alternatively, the agents also leave the waiting zone when the set waiting time is reached.

Color agents by persona or navigation mode

Agents can be colored by their persona, and with the latest update, also by their navigation mode. An agent's navigation mode indicates the activity he or she is currently engaged in, such as riding an elevator or escalator. This allows agents to be distinguished from one another in a flash. Especially densely packed situations can still be detected at first glance.

More accurate analysis of the number of agents in a given area

Recently, we added more analysis capabilities that relate to the number of agents in a given area: For charts, there are now more data series that can be used to break down the number of agents by their persona as well.
