crowd:it Version 2.32.0 is released!
We develop and improve crowd:it continuously. And now, a new version is released with great new features.
In addition to various bug fixes, there are also a few great new features that we would like to introduce to you.
Since we use our crowd:it software in our own projects, we are familiar with the biggest time wasters and sources of error in simulation.
For one of them, we have developed a new solution that simplifies modeling, especially for complex buildings with many floors: simplified path creation with StairSelector.
If you don't specify anything, our agents automatically take the closest element that connects two floors, such as stairs or escalators. You no longer need to add each staircase individually to a path, but the agents will find their way to the next floor on their own - what a relief for high-rise buildings, stadiums, museums, etc.!
If you want to give specific groups of people a certain mobility behavior (e.g. only use escalators), you can store this in the persona settings.
However, you can always create individual paths; these settings will always take precedence. This feature is always enabled because it is not the dominant setting, but can be disabled in the advanced simulation settings.

This saves a lot of modeling time, and the paths are clearly laid out without losing the necessary accuracy.
In this video, we show you the difference between manual modeling and modeling with StairSelector:
Improved rotation of simulation objects
We have made it easier and more accurate to rotate walls and simulation objects. When you select an object for editing, you can rotate it around the center of the geometry. In addition, you cans Dree now select individual points on the object and rotate the geometry around the selected point.
A complete list of our changes can be found in our changelog.
