Version 2.17.0 is released
We develop and improve crowd:it continuously. And now, a new version is released with great new features.
In addition to various bug fixes, there are also a few great new features that we would like to introduce to you.
Improved avoidance of elevators
When exiting elevators, agents waiting on the floor first wait at a distance from the elevator to make room for people exiting before boarding themselves. The agents who are already in the elevator also take a few steps back toward the elevator wall. However, especially when the elevator was particularly busy, this could repeatedly lead to blockages where the agents could not pass each other and the simulation came to a standstill.
With the new update, people in the elevator now also get out if the situation requires it. They wait there until their fellow passengers have left the elevator and then get back in to go to their actual destination floor.
Create collection points
Waiting areas can now also be set up as meeting points. To do this, set the waiting behavior to “Fixed” and check the “Meeting point” option. The agents will now wait until the set capacity is reached and then leave the waiting area at the same time. This allows you to model situations in which people are waiting for a guided tour in a museum or at a tourist attraction, for example: Participants arrive gradually and then set off together.
Alternatively, agents also leave the waiting area when the set waiting time has been reached.
Color agents by persona or navigation mode
Agents can now be color-coded according to their persona, and with the latest update, also according to their navigation mode. An agent's navigation mode indicates the activity he or she is currently performing, such as riding an elevator or escalator. This allows agents to be distinguished from one another at a glance. Even in crowded situations, this makes it possible to identify them at a glance.

More detailed analysis of the number of agents in a specific area
We recently added further analysis options relating to the number of agents in a specific area: For diagrams, there are now additional data series that can be used to break down the number of agents according to their persona.
