Version 2.12.0 is released

We develop and improve crowd:it continuously. And now, a new version is released with great new features.

In addition to various bug fixes, there are also a few great new features that we would like to introduce to you.

Define accessible objects for personas

In crowd:it, different populations with different distributions for body size and speed can be defined – the so-called personas. With the latest update, it is now possible to specify exactly which simulation objects are accessible to each persona and which are not. For example, a persona could only use elevators to change floors, but not stairs or escalators. This allows scenarios to be optimally simulated and planned for barrier-free access for people with limited mobility.

Orange Agenten wählen nur den Aufzug
Accessible objects: Orange agents only choose the elevator, blue agents choose stairs or elevator.

Currently, this setting can be applied to simulation objects. We are working on making it possible in the future to select individual objects or object groups, e.g., a defined group of waiting areas (restrooms for people with limited mobility, cloakrooms on a specific floor, etc.), as non-controllable.

Queueing behavior when waiting at sources

It happens very often at events: there are lots of people in one area, yet lanes form so that individuals can pass through, for example, to get to the bar or to their group. We have now imitated this behavior. If agents are still in their reaction time, i.e., have not yet started moving from their source, they avoid each other and lanes form automatically.

Display number of agents generated

The latest update added a new overview that clearly shows how many agents are generated during the simulation. The info tab on the right-hand side of the software shows the number of agents generated for the entire scenario as well as per floor. In addition, this information can also be retrieved for one or more selected sources. This functionality allows you to easily check the settings you have made for your simulation.
